About us

Meet Our Team

Reiko Renee Tate, CMP

Owner and Creative Director

Reiko works with clients to create memorable and inspiring event experiences. She is a Certified Meeting Professional and a Certified Government Meeting Professional. Her experience includes corporate events management, event design, social party planning, marketing communications, corporate training, stationery design, and working as a visual artist. She is a graduate of Spelman College where she studied economics, painting, and art history. After graduating college, Reiko worked in management consulting and marketing in San Francisco, Atlanta and Washington, DC. In 2001 she started ReikoRenee Creations, creating hand-crafted jewelry and original artwork, selling her creations at arts festivals throughout the southeast. She launched Fun+Art+Wine in 2010, sharing her passion for art and wine in fun interactive painting sessions. After Fun+Art+Wine, Reiko worked as an events manager, planning corporate events throughout the U.S. Along with the rest of the Menu Maker Team, Reiko is passionate about delicious food and committed to helping clients create exceptional and creative events. Reiko Renee Tate Menu Maker Catering & Events Owner

Callie Cottrell, Executive Chef

Head chef Callie Cottrell brings years of restaurant, banquet, catering and specialty baking experience to her role as leader of Menu Maker’s kitchen team. In January 2018, her hire was celebrated as a homecoming; it marked a return to the position she held four years earlier. Cottrell’s love of cooking started early. “I read Gourmet magazine as a kid,” she says. Not long after earning her communications degree from MTSU and spending a few years in the music business, she realized her heart remained in the kitchen. She joined Menu Maker in 2011 before being lured away by Hillwood Country Club as its new pastry chef. Another career advancement came in 2016, when she was named Temple Hills Country Club’s executive chef. In late 2017, Menu Maker owner Mary Weary invited her back – this time to the company’s new south Franklin commercial kitchen. The decision to return was easy. “Everybody here has always worked together so well,” she says, noting the long tenure of many Menu Maker employees.

Mary Weary, Founder

Sole proprietor of 25-year-old catering company with a customer base of over 1000 clients.  Mary’s diverse professional experience includes sales and marketing, trade show and event planning, and recipe and menu development for regional and national restaurants. She penned a nationally distributed food column focused on church kitchens. In 1992, she launched her own company, Menu Maker Catering. While her business grew, Mary served as food and hospitality director for Judson Baptist Church (1992-1995) and Forest Hills Baptist Church (1996-2001). Today she oversees Menu Maker’s professional staff and a corps of 25-30 part-time and contract servers and support personnel — many of whom have been with her from the very start. In 2012, her company was named the SBA’s Home-based Business of the Year in Tennessee. She is an active member of Williamson Inc. and the Tennessee Wedding & Events Specialists Association. Mary and her husband John reside in the Hidden Valley community of Williamson County. She has a B.S degree from the University of Memphis and is an active member of First Baptist Church of Nashville.

Annie Roberson, Web Operations

Nashville native Annie Roberson recently graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in music therapy. The four-year Million Dollar Band member is as equally adept at digital marketing and website development as she is playing the trumpet.  In July 2017, she launched her own virtual social media and digital marketing company, providing website set-up and social media management services at annieroberson.com. Annie is Menu Maker’s first remote team member, managing the company’s online presence from her new home in Fort Worth, Texas. When she’s not watching the Nashville Predators play hockey or watching the Crimson Tide win national championships, Annie enjoys playing with her dog and spending time in the great outdoors. She was literally born into the Menu Maker Catering family as her mother, Susie Roberson, has been an important member of the Menu Maker support team since its start in 1992.
